Fashion Scene interview with Esther Nash"
Fashion scene is a collection of photographs depicting me and my fellow fashion
designers, models, stylists, hair stylists, makeup artists, writers, journalists, fashion
hosts, fashion experts, and bloggers. Flashes of fashion shows, parties, and
presentations. In the fashion industry there is never a dull moment, always onto the next
season, the new trend, the “it” color, outerwear, ready wear, women's wear, mens' wear,
haute couture, the hem line, the accessory, the purse and the shoe. The new hair color/
style and makeup must haves. These photos give the world an insider's point of view.
A peep hole into the fashion scene.
My earliest recollection of the fashion scene, started at age 11 when I answered
the invitation of the Barbizon modeling school. "Be a model or look like one. Barbizon
can show you how". On the West side of Manhattan near the garment center with a
group of aspiring model hopefuls, I learned to walk, sit, stand, apply makeup and dress
like a model and eat like a model. How to prepare for auditions and interviews. My
group and I were critiqued on a regular basis. I was signed with a top modeling agency
at 12 years old. This first experience prepared me for the next chapters to follow in the
fashion world.
My next brush with the fashion scene was in High School. I graduated from a
very specialized high school for talented students. The High School of Art and Design,
located on the east side of Manhattan, 1 block away from Bloomingdales. An entrance
exam and portfolio review along with a high grade average were required similar to the
high demands of the fashion industry. The screening and elimination starts early.
While at Art & Design, I majored in Fashion Design, joined the fashion club, the model
club and slept maybe three hours a night. It was intense but it was so exciting to be
part of the fashion scene.
After High School, I went on to the Fashion Institute of Technology, located on
Fashion Avenue. I graduated with a degree in Fashion Design. While at F.I.T., I opened
three fashion boutiques and launched the Baby Doll Sugar Daddy Line of Rock Star
apparel. I began to attend NYC fashion week and soon after presented my designs
during fashion week as both model and designer. I am the youngest female designer to
have presented as both model and designer at NYC fashion week.

Esther Nash:
New York based fashion designer, model, socialite & fashion expert, is the epitome of a chick on a quest. The fashion world's former prodigy is all grown up. At the age of 18, Esther owned and operated her first retail store. At the age of 19, opened a second store, and at the age of 20, opened a third store. By the age of 21, Esther was having her own runway shows, thereby reaching the rank of a young professional designer. Ms. Nash's fashions have been featured on the long running hit HBO series Sex and the City, and her last runway show (she has had over 2 dozen) was notably attended by Vogue's Editor in Chief Anna Wintour...
