Glamorous meaning exhibiting beauty. A term used to describe the super-sexy glam vixens of the '80s. Glam can also be used to describe something that is marvelous or fabulous.

"Glam I Am" showcases one of my prior Spring collections. Modeled by me. Photographed by some of the most elite fashion photographers, makeup artists & hairstylists who worked with me in creating each of the “Glam” moods in this book. It includes shoes, ready to wear, rock star looks, accessories, and my jewelry designs paired with my good friend Judith Ripka's Jewels.

As a toddler, I dressed Glam. I wore red wooden Swedish clogs and ankle bells. When I was cast for the lead role in my elementary school's play, "Vikings". We wore gold mesh “onesies” paired with a fur cape and a gold viking helmut with horns & fur trim. Everyday at school turned into a fashion show. I dressed to impress my classmates who later turned into my fans. I wore princess dresses and asian kimonos. It was a great experience to be able to express myself as a toddler and continue to adulthood with the same attitude. Not hold back from creative expression.

At age 11, I discovered makeup, nail polish, all types of hairstyles to compliment my different fashion looks. Evening wear, sportswear, resort, rock star glam to name a few. In my opinion fashion should not be a uniform, but instead a way to express oneself and the many different moods.

My Mother and my school teachers neighbors encouraged me to develop my artistic talents and later on to follow my dreams of being a model and fashion designer. Perfect strangers used to stop my mother and I to compliment me on my style and asked for a photo.

My art was regularly showcased in hallways and classrooms to be admired by faculty and the student body. Unfortunately some of my art work on display was destroyed or missing. I did not have a copy. Those pieces were originals. This happened again in junior high school, high school and college. Both my art work and my fashion designs were taken off the walls, or by force from my school locker. My portfolios and my fashion designs were stolen from my home multiple times, from fashion shows, photoshoots, coat check, bell services. Even bag check at the airport or “accidentally” left behind in the taxi. Once at the airport, I was late to the gate. The flight attendant closed the gate and refused to let me take my flight but my luggage containing all my designs for the Scottsdale Arizona fashion show traveled to Scottsdale without me. Now when I travel its only with a carry on that never leaves my sight.

A few times when I was on film set my designs were missing from holding. Once, I was hired by a milliner to model her hats while wearing only body paint. I had to check my clothes which included my designs. When I handed in my ticket stub my clothes were missing from wardrobe.

All these incidents are amongst the reasons, I decided to publish this book. To have a copy of my design work. Verification of my fashion designs.

Through talent scholarships provided by Cooper Union, the Art Students League, the National Academy of Design, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, I have been able to follow my dreams. I feel lucky to be born and raised in New York City, a place that truly never sleeps and whose resources are endless.
